Real Estate Term
Exclusive Listing
A listing agreement giving one brokerage the sole right to sell a property for a specified period.
What is Exclusive Listing?
An exclusive listing is an agreement that gives a single brokerage the sole right to market and sell a property for a set period, without posting it on the shared MLS system. Sellers may use it to test the market quietly or maintain privacy, but the trade-off is far less exposure than a full public listing. If the home doesn't sell, it is often moved to an MLS listing to reach more buyers.
